Open research data and research data management: what, why and how to start ?, by Myriam Mertens, Research Data Officer, Ghent University Library
This session gave an introduction to the topic of open research data and research data management (RDM). It addressed why open data and RDM are currently high on the (international) scientific agenda and how universities and other stakeholders are rising to the challenge. It also discussed the concept of the research data lifecycle, and indicated how researchers can start integrating RDM into their workflow by writing a Data Management Plan (DMP).
